We had a request from the owner of this property to remove most of the lawn and find a way to use less water. The bigger challenge was that this is mostly on the north side of the residence and is shady most of the day, especially in the winter. We've had good luck with Phormium 'Amazing Red', Dwart Papyrus, Grass Palms and ornamental grasses as ground cover, including Carex 'Evergold' and Sessleria 'Glauca' (Blue Moor Grass). Who needs lawn????????????
